Révoltes
(revolt)
2002 - 2006
For several years, the forgotten voices of the indigenous people of Latin America have become louder. In Venezuela, Brasil, Chili, Mexico… For Geo and de l’air magazines, I photographed the revolt of these men and women who were humiliated and disdained for too long.
I photographed the fight of the Mapuche indians in Chili, of the poor inhabitants of La Paz in Bolivia, the occupation of the city of Oaxaca in Mexico.
Today these indian populations react and come out from oblivion to reoccupy their ancestral lands and claim their rights. Slingshots against gunshots, David against Goliath. It is a real wind of revolt that now blows over all of Latin America.
