Patagonie

(Patagonia)
2000-2003

With my spirit buoyed by the stories of writers Luis Sepúlveda, Francisco Coloane, Bruce Chatwin, I spent over seven months crisscrossing Patagonia. I photographed this ultimate land, this windswept piece of the world bathed in the frozen breath of Antarctica. I listened to the men of these boundless spaces, shared slices of life with the last indians, with sailors, with golddiggers and a variety of other adventurers. They all have in their eyes the intensity, the fierceness and the unspeakable melancholia of Patagonia, “that land of nowhere”.
